Center
for Inquiry Libraries
The world's foremost repository of books and periodicals in humanism,
skepticism, and American philosophical naturalism. The online
home of CFI Libraries provides details of the collections housed
within the libraries and information on accessing the books, magazines
and other resources available.
Center
for Inquiry Institute - Science
and the Public
The Institute sponsors research, continuing education, and a Master's
degree in association with the State University of New York. Courses,
seminars, and workshops are offered in critical thinking, scientific
reasoning, pseudoscience, fringe science, claims of the paranormal
and the scientific outlook and its relevance to ethics, religion,
and human values. The two web sites above provide detailed information
for prospective students.
Center
for Inquiry on Campus
Through seminars, campus debates and lectures, scholarships and
a fast-growing network of campus groups, CFI's campus outreach
program promotes and defends the scientific outlook and explores
its implications for students' most cherished beliefs. The CFI
on Campus web site hosts a variety of resources for student groups
and on and off campus supporters, including information specific
to the southeastern region of the United States.
Center for Inquiry Media Productions
Inquiry Media Productions produces radio and television programs,
including "The Humanist Perspective." Inquiry Media Productions
is expanding with the creation of the Center for Inquiry National
Media Center in Hollywood, California and will eventually have
representation at our CFI Florida branch.
Council
for Secular Humanism
The online home of the Council for Secular Humanism offers a wealth
of resources for freethinkers of all kinds, and provides information
and links for all CSH programs, services, and publications. Selected
articles from Free Inquiry magazine, along with content
from several newsletters, can be found at the CSH web site.
Committee
for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal
CSICOP encourages the critical investigation of paranormal and
fringe-science claims from a responsible, scientific point of
view and disseminates factual information about the results of
such inquiries to the scientific community and the public. At
the online home of CSICOP, a variety of useful resources can be
found, including select articles from Skeptical Inquirer
magazine and Skeptical Briefs newsletter and links to all
CSICOP programs.
Commission
for Scientific Medicine and Mental Health
CSMMH is devoted to the scientific examinations of unproven alternative
medicine and mental health therapies. The two journals associated
with CSMMH are The Scientific Review of Alternative Medicine
(SRAM) and The Scientific Review of Mental Health Practice
(SRMHP) and are linked from the CSMMH site with selected articles
available online.
Committee
for the Scientific Examination of Religion
CSER examines the claims of Eastern and Western religions and
of well-established and newer sects and denominations in the light
of scientific inquiry. The committee is interdisciplinary, including
specialists in biblical scholarship, archaeology, linguistics,
anthropology, the social sciences, and philosophy who represent
differing secular and religious traditions.

for Media Integrity
The Council for Media Integrity is an educational outreach and
advocacy program comprised of a network of distinguished international
scientists, academics, and members of the media concerned with
the balanced portrayal of science in the media.
Inquiring
Minds Program
The Inquiring Minds program provides program development and resource
materials to educators, students, community groups and families
interested in fostering inquiry-based learning activities among
young people. Program materials focus on the investigation of
extraordinary claims through the application of scientific inquiry.
The program also works with science and education professionals
in developing extracurricular activities and materials for various
venues.
Secular
Organizations for Sobriety
SOS is a nonprofit network of autonomous, nonprofessional local
groups dedicated to helping individuals achieve and maintain sobriety.
There are groups meeting in many cities throughout the country,
including Tampa, Florida. The SOS family of web sites provides
a rich and diverse set of resources for interested individuals
and groups.
